With my younger children being the only Muslims at their School with over 600 students, they sometimes get what we think are weird questions and strange comments from both children & adults at School. One such comment was that "those poor kids have to miss out on Christmas". Reply "Ah, well it is a religious festival and it's not our religion, we have our own festivals". then came the response "Oh no not that, it's just you can't have decorations or anything so you miss out on all the fun stuff".
Well as a matter of fact Muslims, all the ones I know at least, Do decorate for the Eid's (Islamic religious festivals) And some of us even use tinsel and flashy lights too ! Not like the Christmas lights you can see from space though. So here are a few of our decorations just to show you that the kids aren't "missing out".
